Jan Gorrel
Home Our Board Jan Gorrel

Jan Gorrel has had continued ‘unbroken’ association with ACAS as a member but most importantly as a strong support for husband Frank in his role of General Secretary for ACAS. Jan also had relationships with each of the communities and individuals which we have supported over the years.

Jan travelled to NSW Indigenous communities as an ambassador for ACAS and observed the benefits of our APILA program for those communities. She has served on the Board for several terms and brings substantial knowledge of the Aboriginal Children’s Advancement Society and experience in our operations.

Some years ago Jan owned and managed a successful bridal wear business in Sydney. Jan was always involved in community and received recognition at the 2019 NSW Volunteer Awards.

Jan Gorrel

In the spirit of reconciliation, the Aboriginal Children's Advancement Society (ACAS) acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. ACAS acknowledges and respects that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the original and first inhabitants of Australia and incorporates all areas of cultural significance in the work and programs that it develops and implements to enhance the educational, health and general well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
